Kyle Wurtzel To Race in Historic NHRA US Nationals in Indianapolis
Warsaw Resident to Compete at the 63rd Chevrolet Performance US Nationals
Warsaw, IN. (May 2017)-Since making his NHRA debut in 2014, Kyle Wurtzel has had the goal to take his top fuel dragster to Lucas Oil Raceway for the US Nationals.
Wurtzel, a financial planner, began racing in 2006 in a nostalgia nitro funny car. Wurtzel’s car was the second in the Midwest to break the five-second barrier. In 2010, Kyle was able to get licensed and start his top fuel racing career.
“I’m really looking forward to being a part of this event,” Wurtzel says. “Indy has so much history and this has always been considered the “big” race of the year. To have the opportunity to run there is unbelievable.”
The Chevrolet Performance Nationals will take place from August 31st-September 4th.
“We are going to try our best and with any luck, we will be racing in the finals that Monday!” says Wurtzel.

Kyle Wurtzel Racing Secures Primary Sponsor for the Route 66 NHRA Nationals
Warsaw Resident To Compete in National Drag Race
Warsaw, IN. (March 2015)-After making his NHRA racing debut at the AAA Insurance NHRA MIdwest Nationals in September 2014, Kyle Wurtzel was eager to secure a sponsor for the 2015 racing season. Xtreme Edge of Bolingbrook, IL, will be the primary sponsor for the Route 66 NHRA Nationals, which will take place at the Route 66 Raceway from July 9th-12th. Mike Wojciechowski of Xtreme Edge was introduced to the idea of sponsoring Kyle Wurtzel racing by his head mechanic, Kurtis Ruszkowski, who serves on Kyle’s crew as the short block specialist.
Wojciechowski is a huge race fan, which is what prompted him to sponsor Kyle Wurtzel Racing. “To be able to see my company’s name sponsoring a car for a sport I love is a huge achievement for me,” says Wojciechowski. “I am looking forward to having an opportunity to be a small part in helping Kyle and his team do something they love while continuing to support the sport that gives me great pleasure.”
Kyle looks forward to this partnership and is eager to see many of his fans in Chicago this July.

Kyle Wurtzel Makes NHRA Debut
Warsaw Resident Competes in National Race
Warsaw, IN. (October 2014)-Kyle Wurtzel made his NHRA racing debut in St. Louis, MO at the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals on September 26th-28th at Gateway Motorsports Park.
Wurtzel, a financial planner, began racing in 2006 in a nostalgia nitro funny car. Wurtzel’s car was the second in the Midwest to break the five second barrier. In 2010, with the help of Bruce Litton, Kyle was able to get licensed and start his top fuel racing career.
“That weekend was a giant step forward for us. We were able to show our fans that we can compete with the best in the world,” notes Wurtzel of his debut.
After qualifying to participate in the race, Wurtzel went on to win against renowned driver, Richie Crampton. Though he lost to Steve Torrence in the next round, a win at that level was a huge success for Wurtzel.
With the help of Bruce Litton, Mike Wolfarth, Bobby and Dom Lagana, Phil Stuart, Kurtis Ruskowski, Brett Konken, Jeff Konken, Randy Heintzelman, and Tony Biffer, Wurtzel is looking forward to next season.
